A group of people on a biodiversity walk & talk in Turvey Park, Inchicore.

Join us to explore Dublin 8’s natural and built environment in the second Walk & Talk of 2023 led by members of the D8 Green Bridge Forum. The tour will begin at IMMA and stop at a variety of sites where participants will learn about the species of plants—native, non-native, and invasive—that populate the area, gaining insight to their roles within the local ecosystem and their practical and medicinal uses. The tour will also discuss various manmade points of interest along the route that contribute to the rich heritage of Dublin 8, before finishing up at Turvey Park, Inchicore.

The Walk & Talk will begin at 1pm on Sunday, August 20th at the Geodesic Dome at IMMA, and will run for about 2 hours. At the start of the tour, participants will be gifted a detailed, illustrated map of the area that highlights and provides facts about places of local importance.  Please email isabel@commonground.ie if interested in signing up.
