Story
Common Ground became the cultural tenant of The Lodge in September 2019. The Lodge is a conserved building, originally housing the caretaker of Goldenbridge Cemetery.
Our tenancy followed a period of time where a partnership was built between Common Ground and the owners of the building, Dublin Cemeteries Trust (formerly Glasnevin Trust). Dublin Cemeteries Trust undertook the renovation of the building which had remained empty over many years. Common Ground were delighted to secure STREAM 3 funding from Department of Arts to upgrade the building as part of the renovation process.
The Lodge is now an organisational base for Common Ground, houses two artist studio/workspaces and has a small meeting space for our community partners. Common Ground are committed to establishing The Lodge as a transformative arts and cultural space, valued and supported by our diverse communities.
