X Marks The Core
Common Ground and Core Youth Service have begun the development of a one year visual arts programme with young people who access the youth service. It is a creative project responding to the locality and its physical and social regeneration. This project will connect young people with professional artists, working together with the thoughts and ideas of young people through printmaking, digital film skills and sound.
Common Ground and Core Youth Project seek to build a new resilience with young people that supports them to respond to the challenges of where they live creatively and artistically so that their vision is included in the future social and physical regeneration of their neighbourhood.
Some of the young people accessing Core Youth Service took part in printmaking workshops early in 2022 with Print Van Go and artist Kate O’Shea to test out ideas, methods and engagement in DIY printmaking.
This project is made possible through funding from The Toy Show Appeal 2022.
