Dancers Megan and Jessica Kennedy are the twin sisters that founded Junk Ensemble, a multi-award winning Dublin-based dance company that engages diverse audiences through the creation and presentation of brave, imaginative and accessible dance-theatre work that sheds light on important human issues relevant to society today.
http://junkensemble.comThey worked with Ferrini Youth Club and Fatima Homework Club during their residency at studio 468. They devised a project called Circus Freak, a performance in which the twins performed bizarre stories from the travelling carnival, investigating the glittery façade of circus performers. Recent Productions include The Veiled Ones at Dublin Fringe Festival and Baboro International Festival in Galway, The Misunderstanding of Myrrha at Dublin Dance Festival in 2021, and in 2022 Dances Like a Bomb for Dublin Dance Festival at Project Arts Centre. Latest artist in residencies include the Tate in London, RUA RED and Project Arts Centre in Dublin.
