<p>Artist &amp; Curator <a href="https://www.commonground.ie/artist_profile/clodagh-assata-boyce/">Clodagh Assata Boyce</a> welcomes you to <strong>echo -A geopoetic listening party \\</strong>  on <strong>September 19th</strong> from <strong>4pm to 8pm</strong>.<br></p>



<p>This event amplifies works made by artists and communities who sing about where they come from and what the future may hold. Albums made at critical points in history that echo to the present.<br><br>Using listening as a social practice, come enjoy the unbounded albums of Ziad Rahbani, Odetta Holmes, Julius Eastman and the local Dublin communities of Fatima Mansions and Dolphin House.<br><br>There will be echo zines and plenty of space for creative responses through drawing, writing and singing along.<br></p>

<p>We are delighted to be supporting artist Clodagh Emoe and architect Donal Lally with A L T A R, a site-responsive intervention for Goldenbridge Cemetery.</p>



<p>A L T A R explores how we, the living and the dead, are intrinsically connected with the natural world. A L T A R draws on the material and essence of plant life, creating a gathering space between the interior of the 18th-century Mortuary Chapel and the canopy of the ancient Beech Tree.</p>



<p>The launch of A L T A R takes place on <strong>Thursday 12<sup>th</sup> September</strong> at <strong>7pm</strong> in <strong>Goldenbridge Graveyard</strong>, St Vincent Street West, Inchicore, Dublin 8. <p>Join us to explore Dublin 8’s natural and built environment in the second Walk &amp; Talk of 2023 led by members of the D8 Green Bridge Forum. The tour will begin at IMMA and stop at a variety of sites where participants will learn about the species of plants—native, non-native, and invasive—that populate the area, gaining insight to their roles within the local ecosystem and their practical and medicinal uses. The tour will also discuss various manmade points of interest along the route that contribute to the rich heritage of Dublin 8, before finishing up at Turvey Park, Inchicore.</p>



<p class="has-black-color has-text-color">The Walk &amp; Talk will begin at 1pm on Sunday, August 20<sup>th</sup> at the Geodesic Dome at <a href="https://imma.ie/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">IMMA</a>, and will run for about 2 hours. At the start of the tour, participants will be <a>gifted</a> a detailed, illustrated map of the area that highlights and provides facts about places of local importance.  Please email isabel@commonground.ie if interested in signing up.</p>

<p>Join us on Thursday July 13<sup>th</sup> at 6:00 pm for an informal maker’s workshop and traditional Irish music performance hosted by artist Evelyn Broderick at IMMA’s outdoor pavilion, Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Military Road, Dublin 8.</p>



<p>Artist in residence at studio 468, Evelyn Broderick will bring her project ‘THE PEOPLE’S SHED’ to IMMA’s outdoor Pavilion. Evelyn will host a collective informal ‘Making’ workshop where you are invited to discuss ‘Have you ever made anything by hand?’ followed by a Irish traditional music session.</p>

<p>Join us to find out about Dublin 8’s biodiversity, history, and heritage on a Walk/Talk led by two members of the D8 Green Bridge Forum. This is the first Walk/Talk in 2023 in a series titled Blue &amp; Green with lots in between, as part of the programme for Culture Date with Dublin 8. We will walk on a route around the local area and stop at various points of interest. We will learn how our built and natural environments connect to one another and share ideas on how to make our area a greener, healthier place to live for us, our community, and the flora and fauna we share it with.</p>



<p>The Walk/Talk will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday 13th May at The Lodge beside Goldenbridge Cemetery, and will finish in Turvey Park, Inchicore. The Walk/Talk will last approximately 2 hours.
