The Producers is a collaboration between Gracelands, the food thing and the South Circular Road Community Food Garden Project, in association with Common Ground and studio 468.
During their studio 468 residency Vaari, Jeanette and Seoidin interacted with the myriad of activities, groups and people who access and are located in and around St Andrew’s Community Centre.
Ideas were shared and exchanged on curating, foraging and growing food for use with others and each other including a recipe salon and recipe swop.
The Producers final informal and performative event curated by Vaari Claffey, Jeanette Doyle and Seoidin O’Sullivan will include screenings, artworks and cold dishes located in and between the South Circular Road community food garden and studio 468 in St Andrew’s Community Centre, Rialto on the evening of Saturday June 29that 9pm. This event marks the closing of their residency period in studio 468.
A series of lead in events will take place prior to The Producers on June 29th, these include:
Walk and Talk – Tuesday 25 June at 2pm: meet at The Barge pub, Portobello – exploring and looking at the history of Dolphins Barn war time allotments and current food projects.
Seed and Plant Swop – Wednesday 26 June 11am: meet at studio 468, St Andrews Community Centre Rialto Dublin 8.
Forage Walk – Friday 28 June 10.30 am:: identifying edible and medicinal plants growing wild in and around Dolphins Barn and Rialto
