2011 has been a busy year in Common Ground - here's a few highlights

Our Music for Me programme was delivered to 121 children in six local homework clubs and one primary school with ten professional musicians.  In February a group of children from Dolphin House Homework Club recorded their compositions in RTE's studio 1 with Elaine Agnew and Nick Roth while 26 children from the After Schools in St Michael's Estate recorded theirs in the Base with Robbie Harris, Pia Dunne and Ray Boyle.

We also began a new Under 5's music research project with Early Childhood Ireland and the Base Ballyfermot.  In early 2012 two musicians will work alongside childcare staff and children in Inchicore and Ballyfermot, this is an exciting new partnership for the arts and early years.

Studio 468 re-opened and in February 2012 we look forward to hosting Grace Dyas and Theatre Club.  See their new work The Family in January http://www.projectartscentre.ie/ Former artists have had a number of successes in 2011.  Anne Maree Barry had a successful show in Tampere Finland, Ailbhe Murphy of Vagabond Reviews received the Arts Council's Art and Community Development Bursary and Jennie Moran had a solo show in Galway Arts Centre.  Contemporary dancer Jeong Hyun Kim is currently based in Berlin for a two year dance residency. Kathryn Maguire (who will be resident in 2012) was selected for Dublin Contemporary along with Nevan Lahart. Finally Atelier David Smith won an ICAD bronze award for our publication studio 468 a working space. for more see http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/studio468
