PAST PROGRAMMES
The Community in the Artist
This programme was about enabling opportunities for artists and community and youth groups
to work together over an eighteen month period.
The artists and groups who participated in this programme were:
- Noeline Kavanagh with Fatima
Groups United collaborated on a
street theatre project called 'A
Vision of Hope'
- Sally Anne Matthews in the wider
Bluebell area collaborated on a
quilting project
- Genevieve Harden with Bluebell
Youth Project collaborated on a
visual art project
- Niamh Lawlor with St Michael's
Youth Project collaborated on a
visual art and music project
- Enda O'Brien, film maker made a
documentary film, 'A Culture of
Change', on the process
between artists and the groups they
worked with. This film is available
from Common Ground.
Children and Young People Provision
This programme was always about enabling young people and children to participate in
the arts and engage with artists.
Some of the projects completed were as follows:
- Mapping Arts Project - Common Ground is a member of the steering group of this creative visual arts project which involved artists, youth workers and marginalised young people from the Canal Communities.
A written report on this project was published in 2006. 'Mapping Lives, Exploring Futures' - A Record, Catalogue and Manual is available to buy through Common Ground and the Bookshop at Imma.
